WNEC Law School Prof and GLAD Transgender Rights Project Director to Speak

Jennifer Levi, GLAD Transgender Rights Project Director and WNEC Law School professor will speak at the Connecticut Bar Association – LGBT Section’s February meeting this Thursday in New Haven. Professor Levi has worked extensively in the area of transgender law and LGBT rights, including serving as co-counsel for the seven same-sex couples who sued the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for denying them the right to obtain marriage licenses in Goodridge et al v. the Department of Public Health. She co-edited Transgender Family Law: A Guide to Effective Advocacy, the first book to address legal issues facing transgender people in the family law context and provide practitioners the tools to effectively represent transgender clients.

Meghan came to know Professor Levi during her own student days at WNEC, when she was managing editor of the Western New England Law Review and published her article on State v. Oakley. Meghan is honored that Professor Levi will be sharing her expertise in this area of the law.

The meeting takes place at 6:00pm, Thursday, February 27 at Geronimo, 271 Crown Street, New Haven.
